Blog #4

Internet services are things offered through the world wide web. This includes web search, web browsers, emails, and blogs. The guide to the world wide web at the end of the chapter separates websites into different groups. The groups are resources, auctions, travel, finance, fun and entertainment, government, shopping, weather, sports, news, learning, and environment. (There are more, but I don't want to list them all.) Search tools are things used in order to search the internet for specific information since the internet is so large. It makes information a lot easier to find. Search engines include google, yahoo, and metacrawler.

This week I learned more effective ways to search for things on the internet. I have been using search engines for a while now, but now I know that the more detailed and concise I can be, the better. Filling out the webhunt, although tedious, taught me a lot. I also learned about some cool websites during the webhunt.

I am still really excited about being a teacher. I recently went to a Teach for America information session and am seriously considering applying for that. It seems like it will be a lot of hard work but definitely worth it in the end.
