I have very little experience when it comes to technology and computers. I write papers for my classes and I send emails regularly. I research for my papers through the internet. I check my facebook and myspace accounts daily. I use list-serve through my co-ed fraternity. I talk on AIM every now and again. This is pretty much my experience with computers. I don't know how to create or design web pages. It's not that I'm not interested in learning it, I just don't have the time or necessarily the urge to learn it right now.
I hope to learn more about computers and how I can use them in the classroom if I do decide to teach. Using a blog to communicate with parents is really interesting to me and seems like it will be a useful tool. I know the bare minimum about Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and I am excited to learn more about them. I feel that these tools will be useful to me the rest of the time I am in college and in life.
The test that I took told me that I am a visual learner. This is definitely true. Whenever I take a test, I visualize my notes in my head and I can see (and practically read) my notes to remember the answer that I am looking for. This is another reason that this computer class will be helpful for me. I will be able to actually create the things and be able to visualize them later. The test also stated that I learn things by experience. This is also true. Once I actually do something myself, I am most likely to remember doing it, and how to do it, for a while afterwards. This isn't always a good thing thing though, as sometimes in order for me to understand something, I have to learn it the hard way. My family sometimes wishes that I would just listen to their advice instead of trying everything out for myself.

Diana... even if you don't teach, everything you learn in this class will probably come in handy later. Welcome to the class.
See if you can put a picture of yourself on your blog. You can save one from your Myspace on your computer. Then go to the Template section of your blog and hit "Add page element". Blogger will give you lots of selections. Choose "add picture" and then browse for the Myspace picture you saved onto your harddrive.
